Please come and visit us. ———————————————————— 明治期の蔵を改装したギャラリー・ARTROと平安時代から続く門跡寺院・曼殊院で、何翔宇（へ・シャンユ）の日本では5年ぶり、京都では初となる個展を2会場同時開催します。北京とベルリンを拠点に活動する何は、素材の変換や文化的記号の再構成を通して、個人的、社会的および政治的な主題を批評的に考察してきました。プロテスト後のベルリン市街地の光景を約8年かけて撮りためた写真シリーズや、中国陶磁器の生産地として1000年以上の歴史を持つ景徳鎮で制作された彫刻作品など、すべて日本で初公開となる出展作品は、異なる時間や空間における記憶の残滓を示唆しながら、各会場の静謐で歴史ある建築空間に重層的で新鮮な鑑賞体験をもたらすことでしょう。 ARTRO, a gallery housed in a renovated Meiji-era warehouse, and Manju-in Temple, a traditional Heian-period temple, will host He Xiangyu's first solo exhibition in Japan in five years, and his first in Kyoto. Based in Beijing and Berlin, He has critically examined personal, social, and political subjects through the transformation of materials and the reconstruction of cultural symbols. The exhibited works, all on view for the first time in Japan, include a series of photographs taken over a period of eight years of post-protest Berlin cityscapes and sculptures created in Jingdezhen, a Chinese ceramics production center with a history of over 1000 years. 1986 年生まれ、中国遼寧省出身。ベルリンと北京を拠点に活動。瀋陽師範大学にて絵画を学ぶ。 主な個展に、2023 年「何翔宇」(四方当代美術館サテライトスペース、 上海)、2022 年「House of Nations」(CCA ベルリン)、2019 年「ROOTS」(A4 美術館、成都)、2015 年 「NewDirection- 何翔宇」(UCCA/ユーレンス現代美術館、北京)、2012年「コーラ・プロジェクト」 (4A 現代美術館、シドニー)、2011 年「マラーの死」(シュロス・バルモラル・クンストラーハウス、バ ート・エムス)など。2019 年第 58 回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ、同年第5回ウラルビエンナーレ、2015 年第 13 回リヨン・ビエンナーレ、2014 年上海ビエンナーレ、同年釜山ビエンナーレほか、国際展にも参 加多数。2022 年第 4 回マリオ・メルツ賞ファイナリスト。 主なコレクションに、ルベル・ファミリーコレクション(マイアミ、アメリカ)、ベルン美術館(スイス)、 フランソワ・ピノーコレクション(フランス)、ロン美術館(上海、中国)など。

Born in 1986 in Liaoning, China. Based in Berlin and Beijing. Studied painting at Shenyang Normal University.
