マン・レイ マン・レイはアメリカとフランスで活動した美術家。1890年フィラデルフィア生まれ、本名エヌマエル・ラディンスキー。21年にパリへ移住。シュルレアリスム運動に加わり、写真を中心に、絵画やオブジェ、グラフィック、実験映画などで多才を発揮する。とりわけ写真においては、カメラを使わず、印画紙の上に物を置いて感光させるレイヨグラフや、過度な露光で反転現象を起こすソラリゼーションといった手法を発明し、既成概念にとらわれない新しい表現を切り拓いた。また、パブロ・ピカソやサルバドール・ダリなど芸術家や著名人のポートレイトを数多く撮影。雑誌『VOGUE』や『Harper's BAZAAR』の紙面を飾るなど商業写真家としても成功する。34年に代表的な写真作品を収録した『マン・レイ 写真集 1920-1934年 パリ』を出版。第2次世界大戦が勃発するとアメリカに一時避難し、51年にパリに帰還。晩年は絵画制作に注力する。76年没。代表作に、レディ・メイド作品《破壊されるべきオブジェ》（1923）、写真《アングルのヴァイオリン》（1924）、絵画《天文台の時間：恋人たち》（1932〜34）など。（美術手帖より引用） 森山大道 1938年大阪生まれ。写真家・岩宮武二、細江英公のアシスタントを経て1964年に独立。 写真雑誌などで作品を発表し続け、1967年「にっぽん劇場」で日本写真批評家協会新人賞受賞。1968- 70年には写真同人誌『プロヴォーク』に参加、ハイコントラストや粗粒子画面の作風は“アレ・ブ レ・ボケ”と形容され、写真界に衝撃を与える。 ニューヨーク・メトロポリタン美術館やパリ・カルティエ現代美術財団で個展を開催するなど世 界的評価も高く、2012年にはニューヨークの国際写真センター(ICP)が主催する第28回インフィニティ賞生涯功績部門を日本人として初受賞。2012年、ウィリアム・クラインとの二人展 「William Klein + Daido Moriyama」がロンドンのテート・モダンで開催され、2人の競演は世界を席巻した。2016年、パリ・カルティエ現代美術財団にて2度目の個展「DAIDO TOKYO」展を開催。2018年、フランス政府より芸術文化勲章「シュヴァリエ」が授与された。2019年、ハッセルブラッド財団国際写真賞受賞。 2021年、パリのMEP(ヨーロッパ写真美術館)にて東松照明との二人展「Tokyo: 森山大道+東 松照明」を開催。2022年、アムステルダムやローマ、サンパウロ、北京で個展を開催するなど、 現在も精力的に活動を行っている。 空山基 空山基は、1969 年に中央美術学園を卒業、広告代理店勤務を経て 1972年よりフリーとなって以後、驚異的な写実力を武器に、人体と機械の美を追求した作品で、国内外で伝説的な存在となっているアーティストです。その名を世に知らしめた「セクシーロボット」シリーズ(1978年 -)では、女性の人体美をロボットに取り込んだ表現で、その後のロボットのイメージ形成に大きな影響を与えました。 1999 年には、ソニーが開発したエンターテイメントロボット「AIBO」のコンセプトデザイン、 2001 年には、世界的ロックバンド、エアロスミスの「Just Push Play」(2001)のアルバムカバーを 手掛け、2018 年もキム・ジョーンズと手がけた Dior Men とのコラボレーションで大きな話題と なりました。近年、空山の作品は、名だたる展覧会で広く世界中で発表されています。

Man Ray Man Ray (born Emmanuel Radnitzky; August 27, 1890 – November 18, 1976) was an American visual artist who spent most of his career in Paris. He was a significant contributor to the Dada and Surrealist movements, although his ties to each were informal. He produced major works in a variety of media but considered himself a painter above all. He was best known for his pioneering photography, and was a renowned fashion and portrait photographer. He is also noted for his work with photograms, which he called "rayographs" in reference to himself.（cited from Tate） Daido Moriyama Born 1938 in Osaka. After working as an assistant for photographers Takeji Iwamiya and Eikoh Hosoe, he went independent in 1964. He has been publishing his works in photography magazines among others, and received a New Artist Award from the Japan Photo Critics Association for Japan: A Photo Theater in 1967. Between 1968 and ’70 he was involved in the photo fanzine Provoke, and his style of grainy, high-contrast images that came to be referred to as “are, bure, boke” (grainy, blurry, out-of-focus) made an impact on the realm of photography. Solo shows at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain in Paris solidified Moriyama’s worldwide reputation, and in 2012, he became the first Japanese to be awarded in the category of Lifetime Achievement at the 28th Annual Infinity Awards hosted by the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. The “William Klein + Daido Moriyama” exhibition together with William Klein at London’s Tate Modern in 2012-13 was a showdown of two immensely popular photographers that took the world by storm. Hajime Sorayama Hajime Sorayama graduated from Chubi Central Art School in 1969, and had initially spent some time working with an advertising company. Since becoming freelance in 1972, he has established his position as a legendary artist both within Japan and abroad, armed with his astounding sense of realistic expressional techniques. Sorayama's extensive oeuvre that centers upon an on-going pursuit for beauty regarding the human body and the machine has continued to receive high international acclaim, and his signature body of work entitled, the "Sexy Robot" series (1978-) had served to established his world-wide reputation. Sorayama has continued to receive high international acclaim, working with Sony on the concept design for their entertainment robot ‘AIBO’ in 1999, providing the artwork for the cover of world-renown rock band Aerosmith’s 2001 album ‘Just Push Play,’ and collaborating with designer Kim Jones in 2018 on the Dior Men collection. In recent years his works have also been presented widely in various exhibitions throughout the world.
