小山田徹
京都市立芸術大学理事長・学長 1961年、鹿児島生まれ。京都市立芸術大学在学中、友人たちとパフォーマンスグループ「ダムタイプ」を結成。1992年、メンバーのAIDS発症を知る。以降、AIDSを取り巻く問題に関する活動を始め、ダムタイプを離れた後は、「共有空間の獲得」をテーマに、人々が出会い、交流する場を創造する活動を続ける。2010年から京都市立芸術大学彫刻専攻の教員を務める。2025年4月、同大学の理事長・学長に就任。
Toru Koyamada
Chair of the Board and President, Kyoto City University of Arts Born in Kagoshima in 1961, Toru Koyamada co-founded the performance group Dumb Type with friends while studying at Kyoto City University of Arts. In 1992, he learned that a member of the group had developed AIDS and began working on issues surrounding AIDS. After leaving Dumb Type, he continued to create spaces where people could meet and interact, exploring the theme of “acquiring shared space.” In 2010, he joined the faculty of the Sculpture Program at Kyoto City University of Arts. In April 2025, he became Chair of the Board and President of the university.
